Sue, there are quite a few Baldwins and loads of Daniels in those areas between 1901 and 1911. I would be unable to tell you which is yours without first names. Best get ordering certs ;)

Here's one Tracy I want to find my g-g-grandfather's second marriage, that is to my g-g-grandmother. No luck so far Arthur Henry WINFIELD and Ellen Ann BURROUGHS. They were both born in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk in 1829. He married a Sarah Betts in Bury in 1850. He and Sarah appear in the 1851 Census in Bury. Then Ellen appears on my g-grandfather's birth certificate in London in 1858. In the meantime no sign of Sarah's death or the second marriage. Any help greatly appreciated!! Jane

Karen, that's not an easy one to answer. I would figure out where he was most likely to be imprisoned, and start with the courts there. Some local archive centres will hold this information as well. Are you sure he wasn't born in GB? He may have been registered under another name, or just mis-transcribed. It could also be out on the year. Not everyone told the truth on their marriage certs about their ages.

I got a mystery for you that I need advice on before my brain explodes!!! Joseph Button was born in 1828, Leeds, Yorkshire, he married Mary Ann Harbige and had six kids - have found Joseph on every census available on Ancestry from 1861 thru 1901 (he appears as a Journeyman Carpenter for the first time in 1861 in Middlesex). Two of their children's birth certificates state Mother's maiden name as Harbige. I am 100% sure that Joseph IS my Joseph if you see what I mean. Joseph's parents were called John and Ann (from the LDS site, plus someone kindly accessed the records at St Peters in Leeds where he was baptised and confirmed this). But, this is where the problem is: They confirmed that Joseph's parents were called John and Ann, that John was a cloth dresser - there were no other Joseph Button to be seen. I found Joseph and Mary's marriage in 1850, got the certificate which states his father as being 'John Button - carpenter - BUT no-one can seem to find a John Button, carpenter, plenty of John Button - Cloth Dressers. any ideas or should I just scream!!!!!!!!????????
