Hi Linda, I am very sorry but i cannot find your William. I have looked at Coxwold which didnt seem that big and he wasnt there. Easingwold is on the same disc so went through there and he is not there either. There are so many other little villages on the same disk that he could be in any of them. Do you have where he married at all and when he married or the 1861 for him? Claire x

Hi Karen, I have been through Ackworth and he doesnt appear to be there. I have found a record of the marriage bann for Walter though via Google. It is number 169 for the parish church of Ackworth - Walter Griffiths to Maria Templeman. With this, i doubt that they will be in Knottingley. Regards, Claire x

Karen Report 13 Sep 2005 17:04

Hi Ickle, Thanks for looking. No I don't know yet when they married as I have only just found out about Walter. His wife Maria was born in Knottingley,Yorkshire and Walter in Ackworth. I found Walter on the IGI as being born in 1823 but on the 1861 census his birth date is 1828.Thats if it is the same person-I'm sure it is. Could you try in Ackworth and Knottingley for me please. Thanks Karen
