Dawn, Thank you so much for your help. I'm sure the Hamilton Walden you found is mine because he named his daughter Isabella, presumably after his mother. Thanks again for your time and trouble. Best wishes and good luck with your own research, Lilian

ISOBEL MCEWAN Hi Isobel This one was a bit hit and miss, here goes I couldn't find any trace of a marriage for David and Mary but I found 2 children's christenings for them JANE MARCHBANK, ch 23 Jun 1824, Wamphray, Dumfries JOHN MARCHBANK, ch 29 Mar 1829, Middlebie, Dumfries Then I found a possible christening for David. DAVID MARCHBANK, ch 10 Sep 1797, Kirkpatrict Juxta, Dumfries, Father JOHN MARCHBANK Then I found 2 possibles for Mary MARY THOMSON, b 11 Nov 1803, Wamphray, Father WILLIAM THOMSON, Mother JEAN KER MARY THOMSON, ch 30 Nov 1806, Middlebie, Father JOHN THOMSON, Mother JONET ANDERSON Then I found a very strong possible for Mary Little MARY THOMSON LITTLE, ch 7 OCT 1843, Kirkpatrict Juxta, Father LITTLE Now all this is if they all were from Dumfries and that part of the county. hope you can fix it all together. Dawn :-)

HEATHER HAZELMAN Hi Heather My info matches the info that you gave me for the marriage in Kirkliston. The only thing I can think of is that 2 couples with the same names marriaged in 2 different parts of the country. I've come across this before but there is usually a few years difference, not just a month. That's the only explanation that I can come up with. Good luck. Dawn :-)

LILIAN WILLIAMS Hi Lilian I couldn't find any Esther, anywhere in Scotland, sorry. But may have had better luck with Hamilton, this was the nearest that I could find to 1842. Hope it turns out to be him. Dawn :-) HAMILTON WALDEN, ch 8 May 1837, Monkton, Ayr, Father JOHN WALDEN, Mother ISABELLA MISCANDLIN

GLORIA LYNCH Hi Gloria Don't worry, you're not being a pain. Thanks for the offer, you'll have to let me know what sort of info and dates are available, then I may ask you to have a little look for me. As for Margaret, there were none in 1787, but did find 2 in 1786. MARGARET PAGAN, ch 8 Jan 1786, Moffat, Dumfries, Father WILLIAM PAGAN, Mother BETTY FERGUSON MARGARET PAGAN, ch 1 Sep 1786, New Cumnock, Ayr, Father ALEXANDER PAGAN, Mother JEAN LOGAN Hope one is the one you're looking for. KEILEY ELLIOTT Hi Keiley All that I could find for sure on this couple was a christening for one of their children, Janet, which I've included just in case you didn't have it. There was no trace of any other children or a possible marriage between them. JANET CAMPBELL, ch 15 Aug 1786, Reay, Caithness I had a look in for possible christening records in case they were from the same town and came up with 3 for Donald and 2 for Anne. Sorry I couldn't help more. Dawn :-) DONALD CAMPBELL, ch Feb 1763, Reay, Father ALEXANDER CAMPBELL DONALD CAMPBELL, ch 1 Jan 1766, Reay, Father WILLIAM CAMPBELL, Mother CATH. CAMPBELL DONALD CAMPBELL, ch Jan 1767, Reay, Father NEIL CAMPBELL ANN MACKAY, ch 6 Apr 1766, Reay, Father JOHN MACKAY ANN MCKAY, ch 5 Apr 1770, Reay, Father JOSEPH MCKAY

Hi Dawn, I hope I am not a too frequent visitor to your thread but they are great records you have. Previously you found the Grant family and their parents for me which really got me going. However, my problem now is conflicting information. On the I.G.I. I found Henry Grant married Isabella Brown 25th May 1850 Kirkliston, West Lothian. When Henry registered his son in Australia he stated he married June 1850 at Uphall, Linlithgowshire. The differing months is understandable but the the different place is strange. Could you please try to find that marriage as I wonder if everything on I.G.I. is correct...or can someone forget where they married ?? Thanks Heather
