When you post a request, take a minute to read it before clicking the 'add message' button. Make sure that any dates you have quoted are correct, also that anyone else reading it will be able to understand what you are trying to say. So many postings recently are very difficult to interpret, and are littered with inaccuracies, which wastes time and causes untold frustration........ Reg

When given sites and instructions by others try them out for yourself first, if your still confused or can't work them then ask again for help, it's more rewarding when you find it yourself then others searching it all for you and you learn with the experience of it......

When asking for someone to be found on a census, give their place of birth...........it's not much help knowing where they lived in an earlier or later census. The birthplace is a useful search tool. Reg

Abbreviations: LDS = Latter Day Saints (Another name for the FamilySearch site) IGI = International Genealogical Index (Found on LDS) BMD = Births, Deaths & Marriages BVRI = British Vital Records Index (By no means complete and never will be) NBI = National Burial Index (by no means complete and never will be) I'll add more as I come across them !
