Lesley Would you be kind enough to give me the 1861 Amos Charles living with Thomas and Sarah and anyone else who was there, please. I just want to establish that there were 2 Amos's and see if I can find the connection. Thanks loads. Kath

Hi Lesley If you get a chance could you please see if you can find a baptism for Mary Chilvers in Oxford (the Longwall area) around 1795. I'm also interested in her parents so if you can see a marriage for a John Chilvers (possibly to a Mary) in the same area presumably prior to 1795 that would be great. Many thanks for your time and assistance. Kind regards Helen

Hello Lesley I have just read your follow up message posted last night, where you have found a John and Annas Parkinson in Lancaster 1861. I didn’t see this last night, as I’d signed off before you sent it. These names looks more promising. Can I now ask you another favour? Can you see if you can find this family somewhere in 1871. There might be a clue for me. Many thanks. Pauline

Thankyou Lesley for the information you provided re. Amos CHARLES. I have only recently discovered Amos and Frederick in the 1861 census, they were the children of my great great grandparents William and Maria CHARLES. They are not listed with them in the 1871 and I thought they may have died but then discovered Amos living with Thomas and Sarah CHARLES (as their son) and Frederick living with the Edmunds family in 1871. They appear to be the right ages but are they the same boys I wonder? Maybe they have been taken in by somebody else, possibly unofficially adopted I wonder? I suppose I'd better find their birth or marriage certificates to verify if their father was William and their mother Maria. I find it really exciting all this detective work!!! Thanks for helping me. Much appreciated Kath Kath
