Kaz in a Tizz Report 18 Jul 2005 23:17

Hi Lesley Thanks for the kind offer! I am helping a friend trace his fathers family. Thomas Bailey b 3/12/1932 in Birmingham, the mother Ann died two weeks later in the B'ham women's hospital d 18/12/1932. The father was Joseph Bailey who was supposed to be 44 at the time so makes him b. c1888 I think perhaps Ann was similar age as they had an older son but we don't know the name (would love to know where his family are). They seem to think the mothers name was also Bailey when she married Joseph (but could be wrong) We don't have a date for the marriage or any other info except that Thomas was placed in an orphanage and was evacuated to Nottingham during the war, his father was still around in 1946 (in birmingham) and apparently the brother was in the Royal Navy at the time. Any info on a marriage etc would be grateful although I do realise there is not much to go on! By the way we don;t think Thomas's birth was ever registered. Hope you can help Lesley Best wishes Karen

Sorry, I didn't see the first message you left about 1871. I didn't scroll down the message list any further than the 1881 reply. It looks good, thank you Pauline

Hi Lesley, hope you can help with these: The marriage of John Darlison (c1810 Kinsale, Ireland) and Charlotte Faithfull (c1813 Kintbury, Berkshire). Their first child was born in Battersea, Middlesex in 1833, so they were probably married there too. Can you check for the baptism of Charlotte too; trying to verify if her father is Isaac or Jonas. Also looking for the marriage of John Weston (c1812 Leicester) and Amelia Manning (c1819 London). Their first child was born c1843 in Market Harborough, Leicester. (I have note of a marriage for a John Weston and an Amelia Churley - don't think this is the right record though.) Anything you can find would be a great help. Margaret

Hi If you can help, I’d be really grateful. I have been trying to find out more about one of my G grandmothers, like brothers and sisters. Not had much luck up to now. Her name was Alice Parkinson, born in Lancaster 1865. I think she was in service in the 1881 census so no info there. A living relative has just told me that they think her parents were called John and Ann. John would match the fathers name on her marriage certificate, Lancaster 1884. Please can you see if you can find this family on 1871 census of Lancaster. Many thanks Pauline

Hi Lesley The approx birth years are from census returns and they married in 1849. I have just written that and realised that Eliza could not have been born in 1833. I have just looked back and she must have been born around 1831 or 1832 but definately got married in 1849 so she must have been 18 when she married. I haven't got any more info at the moment but thankyou for looking. Regards, Emma
