Cheers for that Sue, Out of all these disks, i really dont like the Leeds ones and the surrounding areas, they are a nightmare, so vague on the area index as well. Will let you know if i get any more requests for them. Regards, Claire

Hi Claire I have very little info on the wherabouts of George & Jane Redfearn in 1851 but someone kindly found Jane's parents in 1861 and at that time they were living at 35 St Peters Street, NE District of Leeds. Daughter Jane was already married by the time of the 1851 but maybe she was living near her parents. Regarding Birstall - GenUKI has this - BIRSTALL, a parish-town, in the township of Gomersal, Morley-division of Agbrigg and Morley, liberty of Pontefract; 7 miles SW. of Leeds and Bradford, 7½ from Halifax, 8½ from Huddersfield, 31 from York. Having said all that, i looked at my records again and see that, although George Redfearn was born in Birstall, in 1841 George and his parents were living in Liversedge. Hope this helps in your search. Many thanks Sue

Hi Susan, Leeds is impossible to search without an address. Its only broken into South, East, West and North Leeds so will need to know which part and what district to look for. They are the worst disks on this census. The Birstall they could be, is that part of Leeds or is the Birstal that is part of Bradford? Regards, Claire

Hiya Ickle Could you please try and find George Redfearn and his wife Jane. They married in February 1851 in the Parish Church, Leeds. George was born in Birstall in 1826 - so would be 25ish Jane was born in Leeds in 1827 - 24ish I am guessing they will either be in Birstall or Leeds. Sue
