Hi Tracy, I hope you don't mind me asking you to do a look-up for me, as I am sure you have helped me lots of time in the past. I am desparately trying to find Mary Philliphant (Phillifant or other variation) the mother of John Philliphant from Lifton in Devon. I am not sure whether, if she was still alive in 1851, whether she would still have been in Lifton. I am not sure what month of the census was done, but I have found a death record and sent for the certificate of a Mary Phillifant (May 1851) but cannot be completely sure whether it was her. The certificate I have says she was in Totnes, possibly in an asylum. Would be really grateful for any census records or information you could find for me. John and his family are in Lifton in 1851. Brothers William and Richard were in Topsham. Many thanks, Paul C

If you have the time could you look up Annie Webber, Nailsea, Somerset, she would have been a young baby in 1851, I really need to know who her mother was. If she is not there, are there any other Webbers of child- bearing age- unmarried ones as she was illegitimate. That way I may be able to narrow it down. Also in Nailsea, could you tell me who was living at the Royal Oak pub, Silver street? It should be Samuel Lovell and family, but I would be interested to see who else was there- esp. someone called David Davies(who was Annie Webber's father!!!) Thanks very much, you are a star!!!

Hi Tracey Moi again! Seeking WARD siblings born in Alcester Warks in 1851. These are all siblings born in Alcester and baptised on the years given below. I am wondering if they are still around in 1851 and if so where and with whom? Very grateful for your offer of yet another resource. 1. Ann 1781 & Joseph Ankers 2.William Ward 1787 & Mary his wife & son John <1826> 3. Elizabeth Salmon 1790 & husband Willam they had 5 sons 4. Mary Ward 1794 5. Susanna Ward 1797 6. Joseph Ward 1799 and wife Ann This lot are much more likely to be close by Alcester, Elizabeth Salmon had her children In Studley, I am fairly sure Joseph and William wil be in Alcester but then you never know do you? They all actually lived in Kings Coughton a hamlet a mile or so from Alcester itself if that helps. Thanks ever so much. Marlene from a snowy South Pacific tonight!

Hi Tracy Please could you look for the following who are hopefully in Bath, Somerset (possibly Lyncombe/Widcombe area?): James Burridge (born Somerset c. 1806 as per 1841 census) Ann Burridge - wife (born Somerset c. 1810?) John Burridge - son (born Bath c. 1833) Ann Burridge - mother (born Somerset c. 1776 as per 1841) Son John was still in Bath in 1861 so I hope they were there in '51, though I haven't found them on 1851 name index at FRC. Thanks! Sarah
