Lucette, There are over 40 CDs with at very least a couple of 100 pages on each. Each page holds about 50 names. Some roads (let alone areas) are split over several CDs, so yes it's a slog !! But I guess if you really put your mind to it and did a couple of hours here and there you would get through it in the end. The quality varies throughout - it's not confined to areas. Sometimes you can't read it because it's too faint, sometimes because there are huge black marks over the page. Some pages are water-damaged, others fire-damaged and others just missing. Rick.

Chloe, Yes is does cover Lambeth, but I can't find Byers or Levitt in Bolwell Street. Don't think anyone stayed still for long in those days. Rick.

Rick Could you possibly check whether the St Giles area/St Martins in the Field is clear on the 1841 census? (Possibly Holborn) And could you also advise whether searching an area (don't have an address) is going to be a long hard slog? I am tempted to splash out on the cd, but won't if it'll take me ages to just find a blur!! Thanks v much Lucette

Rick, Is Lambeth included on the 1841? If so, could you please look up Bolwell Street, Lambeth? Looking for the BYERS family. Preferrably George BYERS aged 5ish. Mother was Ann BYERS, possibly LEVITT at the time. They were living here in 1851, so I'm hoping that they don't like to move about a lot! Thanks! Chloe
