Hi Tracy Please could you look up the following if poss: 1871: Jane Smart (born c.1833 Paddington/Marylebone); daughter Ann Smart (born c.1865 Marylebone); head of household may be James or George Smart; possibly living in Poplar/Marylebone area. Eliza Herridge / Dunn (born c.1827 Purley, Berkshire); daughter Harriet (born 1859 London City); son John (born c.1853 London City); should be somewhere in London. Thanks! Sarah

Hello again Tracy, UPDATED Unfortunately no, I do not know who the mother was. I do know that my grandmother was Catherine Jane. The only CJ Parr birth I can find was registered in the June quarter of 1891 in Leicester A hunt through marriage indexes turns up three possibilities:- Jane Smalley (registered Dec 1890) Emma Jane Barratt, or Elizabeth Stevens (both registered Dec 1889) There is one other where the name George Henry matches, and that is in Chelsea June 1890, and the wife's name could be either Venetia Rose Stevens or Lilias Bertha E Leathe. It looks as though I may have to bite the bullet and buy a birth certificate and hope for the best. Thanks anyway Paul

Tracey, I'm looking for John Shawcross b1818 Salford, Bank Cashier & his wife Anne bc1822 in 1871. More than likely have their daughter Mary E Shawcross b1852 living with them. Am eager to know where Anne was born so I can find her on the IGI out of millions of Anne Wallace's! Now that I have seen your thread, I will delete my appeal for 1871 lookup..not wanting to duplicate. Have got 1881, and they had both died by 1891...but may ask for a 1891 lookup for Mary E Shawcross at a later date, when I know more about her! Thanks in anticipation. Elaine. :-)

Susan Wain, Where did you find them in 1901? Using PRO or the decoder? If it's the decoder, then there's no way of telling you how they're related as I found them using the decoder, I can see Rebecca aged 23, a Domestic Help.. and other children.. Found Martha living with her father, Frederick in 1891. Found few Rebecca .. One aged 12 living with father, George. I found a Charles and Sarah Clarke in 1891 on their own but Sarah being born in Sherwood. I did try to look! T

Hello Tracy When you can spare the time, I would appreciate a look up for the following in 1891, although I do not have much to go on. GEORGE HENRY PARR. He would possibly be in Derbyshire and married. There may be a baby (CATHERINE JANE) although I am not sure about that. Catherine was my grandmother, she married at 26 in 1917. It all depends when she was actually born as to whether she would be on the census. There may also be a Louise or Louisa in the family, as I am pretty sure that she was older than my grandmother. I have had a look at various sources, but have not positively identified her apart from help from a lady who found her marriage details for me. Thanking you for any help you can give. I am going offline now and will check later this evening Paul
