Thanks Debs, I don't seem to be doing so well at the moment... seem to have reached quite a few dead ends. If you have the 1871 census could you look for John Harrison, Born Pollington (allegedly) abt 1855. He would be abt 16ish in 1871. I have looked for him on Pollington 1871 and he is not there. Nor is he with his wife and family who are in Pollington on 1881 but he re-appears in 1891 and 1901. Someone found this info for me and I have stupidly lost it. Many thanks, your help much appreciated, Jenny

Thanks. Not sure what to think now. I assumed Elizabeth had died, hence the second marriage but who knows, could they have been divorced ? Was it very common in those days and how would I find out ? Mary

Mary Report 1 May 2004 14:25

Thanks Chloe - I did have that info already but cheers for looking. I found a John Hearn on 1901 but was trying to save myself paying out just for the one look-up. Sounds a bit mean I know but it soon adds up to a hefty total and a disapproving look from the other half. Mary
