Hi Chris, you seem to be a very busy and helpful guy, I wonder if there are any Dannatt's in Hull or Lincoln on your 1871 list? I got stuck with Charles born 1898, my grandfather. Mike Dannatt

Hi Janet I had a lovely christmas thank you, hope you did also.Still fighting to get on computer.Son gone out for the night and I did the late shift at work so I've managed to get on.Unfortunatley I wasn't able to find your Wiley family in Cayton only seems to be a tiny place.I found a Stephen Wiley a farmer age 66 and his wife Francis age 64.In a place that looks like Farnham which seems not to far away but not sure. I haven't looked for your Haigh family yet as that will take a little longer so will have to wait until son goes back to base.I did look for Brittain Court though.but they weren't there. Sorry I wasn't much help this time round, fingers crossed for the next look-up.I'll be in touch as soon as pos Chris

hi chris not sure if this will be on the yorkshire census but can you please look for a Thompson family. Head would be Joseph(dont know DOB or place, hoping if you find the family it will send me in right direction). He will prob be working as a Sythe Grinder. Wife- Hannah, B c1868, conisbro, yorkshire Son- William Joseph, B c1867, Greenhill, derby. Daug- Clara, B c1868, Greenhill, derby. Son- James John, B c1869, Greenhill , derby. and depends on date of census.. Tim Henry B 21/5/1871. I think they will be living around greenhill, which has always been in sheffield, but was under derbyshire not yorkshire. thanks for any help you can give. Joseph is driving me mad. cant find anything about him due to fact that he died before 1881 census & hannah remarried & moved to Hackenthorpe(also in sheffield).Cant find a marriage for him & hannah,if fact only know about him due to name on birth cert on Tim Henry. kerry.

Hi Chris If you have the time could you possibly look for any Greenley's living in the North Burton (Burton Fleming) and Folkton/Flixton areas. I know it's a busy time of year so when you've got a moment! Jeanette

Hi Chris, please could I add another 1871 request? Barker, Amelia(sometimes Emily) b 1801-5 in Middlesex, living in the Duke St/Bard St area of Sheffield (which is just west of Commercial st, n of Sheaf st). I would like to know birthplace & whether her Husband George is still alive & whether any children are with her. Sheffield is a large area, and I understand this may not be possible. For ANN WIGHTMORE, you can buy the index for a particular surname on the 1861 Sheff&Rotherham census cheaply from Sheffield FHS online. I have several but not for "H" unfortunately. Merry Christmas to all, Marian

A message for Chris It would be wonderful if you could find a William Hanton for me. In 1871 he would be 19 and born Norwich. He is in Rotherham in 1881 but need details of his family before this time.I am not sure where in Yorkshire he might be. If anybody has the 1861 census for Yorkshire I also need info from that census as well on same person. A happy Christmas to You and thanks. Ann
