Hi

Would you mind looking up the 1881 and later census' for a John Cox, born c1873 to Thomas J Cox and Emma Stocker. I have the census up 1871 with the rest of the family, but I am trying to work out when and on what ship John came to Australia. His siblings were Thomas b1857, Emma b1858, Charles b1860, William b1866, Richard b1870. Thomas and Charles came to Australia first in 1878 on the Chimborazo, then John followed. I presume there were more children between Charles and William that must have died.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated...

Cheers
Leslie

Please Jane, a census look up 1841 & 1851, William Gibbings and wife Sally or Sarah Gibbings (nee Potter). Maybe Torquay, Devon, England. Not sure of age but they had a daughter c 1822 named Sarah Gibbings, she was born in South Tawton Devon, England.
I hope this is enough information, Cheers Lorri.

Hi Jane

Thanks for you help finding Kate Godfrey in the 1901 census. I was hoping it would show her to have had a sister Elizabeth Ann. So the mystery deepens.

Would you mind finding me the 1901 census details (address and family) for Elizabeth Ann Godfrey, who, if my search is correct, would be 17 years old, born in Leeds West Yorkshire and living in Armley, Leeds.

Kate & Elizabeth Ann were related, and most of the family said that they were sisters, but obviously not.

Thanks again

Keith

hi jane

William james dodson married delilah pullan in barnsley in 1903 3rd quarter. There children include elsie born around 1904 to 1906, my grandad arthur dodson born march 1908, george 1913,annie 1915, robert 1921 and dorothy 1924 all born in rotherham Yorkshire. I have found a possible birth date for william as 1882 2nd quarter in Chesterton, there is only annie for whom i am uncertain where she was born. On my grandads marriage certificate his dad william james dodson is listed as a brewery labourer.

I have tried to find him (william james) on the 1901 census and can't. I have sent off for his marriage certificate so hopefully this will provide some much needed clues.

thanks caroline
