Ref the Pittuck & Pinnuck saga,

Marriages,
June 1894
Clara Livermore 3a 392
William Pinnuck
Edmonton

It would now seem that there is a tieup of both names

Clara Livermore bn Edmonton Mar q 1873
Walter Livermore bn Edmonton Mar q 1871
one marries a Pittuck & the other a Pinnuck ????

Best Regards BOB,.,

Hi Dionne
I found this death which I think could be a previously unknown brother of Dorothea - or her father.

Edwin William Livermore - dob 14 Sep 1911 - Death Q4 1972 Hillingdon.

I've searched 1909 - 1913 for a birth for the above Edwin and.....yep you've guessed....there isn't one! But it could open up another line of living relatives who might know something about the family.

The other alternative is that it is Dorothea's fathers death. I know it doesn't sound possible but believe me I've just had one like it myself: I knew the death I was looking for was in 1961 and I knew the age was 84 - on the death cert his age is recorded as 63! with a note in the margin with the correct age, so it does happen!

Mary "

Given the above information it is very likely that he is a son and maybe born in South Africa

It is his marriage to Leonora Pittuck in 1935.

Marriage
Edwin W Livermore.....Leonora I Pittuck
Hendon
4th qtr 1935
vol 3a page 1345

Birth
Pamela J Livermore mmn Pittuck
Colchester
3rd qtr 1936
vol 4a page 1285

Details have been sent via pm to Dionne re living relatives from this union.

Sorry to be a nuisance, I'm losing track. How is Edwin Livermore who married Leonora Pittuck in 1935 connected?

well maybe they didn't come back with him?

Jut because he fathered them doesn't mean he had a relationship with them?

Maybe he abandoned them and their mother brought them home?

Or... maybe she abandoned him and brought them back here? wonder if thats why they put deceased.... because they just didn't know?

Maybe because of the war he was fighting it was a good bet he'd have been killed? esp if their mother had heard nothing from him?

OOooooh so many questions.....

I've always been here but just lurking! xx

Dionne..

If he were 'carrying on' off camp then maybe he just didn't declare them? or if he were 'batting above his weight' ie, seeing a captain's daughter maybe they kept the fact he was their father secret?

Hi Susan

Thankyou for your message. You have now given me a little hope. But...Edwiin was only 18 when he joined up and not married. He then went to South Africa with the Army.I dont know if he married but I do know that his daughters were born in South Africa so wouldnt they have been added to his records as he was till in South Africa? the trail just goes cold.

I am hoping that a certificate ordered on a death of an Edwin Livermore just might possibly be him.If its not them I really think alians came down and took him to another planet because we cant find him on this one. Thats given me an idea.Hire a space ship from NASSA and travel the universe to look for him, lol.

Hi

This is an exciting and fascinating thread! What an amazing story ...

I am only posting to add a comment about Edwin and marriage details on Army records. My Australian grandfather enlisted in Oz Army in 1915 - at this point he had been married 10 yrs and had a daughter. Neither his wife nor daughter are mentioned on Army record - the spaces are blank, so he did not tick "No" to having them but did not admit to them either.

What I've discovered is that he joined up to leave them - his wife later divorced him. On marriage to my gran he added 10 yrs to his age and described himself as a widower ... oh, and his father as deceased - he wasn't!

Things aren't always what they seem just because docs are official!

Good luck with rest of your research.

Hi Sandra and Selena

Sandra.I would love to think that this could possibly be my fathers grandfather. There are some similar things but I dont think it is him. Also my Edwin was a corporal.

I also received an email back from the lady that runs the South African site.
She said that without the area of South Africa that Edwin served in there was little she could do. She also said that if he had married then she is sure that his marriage details would have gone on his Army records. So I am really confused now and dont really know what to think.

I am hoping to receive the certificated that I ordered on Edwins parents soon. They might give some more clues but I am thinking that pretty soon we are going to have to close the boo on this one.

I will post here when I get some more news.

Hi All

Thankyou for your message Bob. I agree the names are simialr but I am also having problems with the name Walter.

Brenda sent me some information on a SOUTH AFRICAN GENEALOGY site. The lady who runs it also has a interest in the military. I have sent her a very detailed email on all the information I have on Edwin William Livermore and his two daughters. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that you just might be able to help. Thankyou Brenda for the information.
I will keep you all posted.
