Hello again Chris

I am about 985 sure this is your William Newton with family in 1901.
Warren Cottage,Temple Bruer,Lincolnshire
Henry Newton Head 30 Farm Labourer b Navenby,Lincs
Lizzie Newton Wife 23 b Wellingore,Lincs
Charles H Newton Son 5 Scholar b Wellingore
William Newton Son 3 b Wellingore
Florence Newton Daur 2 b Temple Bruer
Daisy Newton Daur 6mths b Temple Bruer

William Newton Sept Qtr 1897 Sleaford 7a 466

Henry Newton/Lizzie Richmond Sept Qtr 1885 Sleaford 7a 839

Gladys and father Henry are a bit of a challenge, since she was born 1903,therefore not on 1901 census.Since we do not know Henry Newton's age it is difficult to find him,Gladys may have been the first child or the last of a large family and so far I cannot find a family that I am reasonably confident may be the correct one.
Her birth reg is Gladys King Dec Qtr 1903 Gainsborough 7a 689.
You may have to invest another 7 quid and get her birth cert,if I cannot come uop with anything.

Best regards
Mary

Hi jackie ox
The 1841 census does not show birthplaces, only if born in or out of County where they are recorded in the census.
1851 census shows Hannah as being born Long Compton,Warwickshire. Might have to get Nathaniel's birth cert to get her maiden name??

Hi Mary
I've got the wedding cert for William Newton and Glady's King,as you suggested,I'm afraid the writings not very clear
William was a labourer age 31(can't read where he was living) when he married Gladys age 24 (who was living in Morton )at St Paul's church in Morton Gainsbro on July 30th 1928
William's father was Henry Newton and Glady's father was Henry King both labourers ,witnesses were Ruth King, maybe Glady's mother and John Newton
Hope this helps Best Regards Chris
PS found out the name of the place where William was living when he got married it's Temple Grange Navenby Lincs also known as Temple High Grange I believe

Hi Tom
Sorry I cannot help with the Elphinstone folks as Ancestry does not have Scottish BMD records, you need scotlands people for that.

Good luck

Hi jackie ox
I tend to think that Ann is probably Hannah.
As an Oxonian (born Bicester)I am well aware that there is a tendency for folk born in Oxfordshire to drop their aitches on the odd occasion and it was misheard by the enumerator.

I am so pleased I have been able to help in a small way with your research,if ever you need help in the future, just get in touch.

Regards

I cannot find a marriage for Netherclift/Pattison in 1892/3.

Can confirm the birth registration for Hannah is correct.

Thanks to info from you i have been able to go back futher than anticipated. But have come across a problem, Nathaniel's parents are Joseph & Hannah Matilda Nutt. Joseph must have remarried because his 1st wife died 1836 then i find bapts for Nathaniel & 2 sidlings. Any chance of a 1841 look up please Iffley parish to see who was around.

Many thanks for all your hard work you are a star *

Hi Pat
Still having trouble locating the Leigh folks.
If she was 5 when Mum died that would put her birth at 1878/9.
I cannot find a birth for her in that timeframe either.
Very odd!!

RE Juanieta Richardson.

Mary

Thank you so much for that. I did think she could have been on the next page. But not having Ancestry couldn't have a look.

I do think there was a chance of Frederick being in the boar war.

Do you know of any sites where you can check this out?

Thank you once again
Ali
