hI THERE
I am trying to find out the father of William Tester, born in 1874, dies 1958, married to Rosetta Mower. I have found them in the 1901 census living at 28 Marchland Road Eltham, with one son, and know this to be my William Tester beyond any doubt. However, in the census's before then, there are so many William Testers born at about the same time that I have found it impossible to unravel things from there. Do you have any suggestions for taking things further?

Hi Louisa

Elizabeth doesn't have a middle name that I know of. She was married to Gilbert Tripp if that helps. Ella doesn't have a middle name either. She was not married - died at 27. Both Elizabeth and Maude were Jordan before marriage. Maude was married to Arthur Richards and was widowed at 21 then married Herbert Ellerton in 1905.

Not much help there - sorry.

Best wishes

Liz

Hi Louisa

I am looking for Elizabeth Tripp (1869) and Maud Ellerton (1880). I think the two sisters may have been living together after 1915. Elizabeth would have been with her husband and family and Maud may have carried on living with her husband, Herbert Ellerton for a few years as he died in 1921. Maud's daughter from a first marriage, Ella Richardson, died in 1926. Can you find any of them on the electoral records at any stage? They were all in Victoria in the Bendigo area. Laanecoorie at one stage.

Would appreciate your help in finding them.

Thanks

Liz

Hi Jill,

could not find him sorry. i noticed in his papers it states he was discharged in 1919 in England. While he was in Australia he may have held onto has british citizenship so he was unable to vote here,
