Hi Louisa.

Thanks for the look ups re Henry Angus Forbes, I don't believe he is related to your distant ancestor as all Henry's decendents are from Scotland as he was the first from his line to move to Australia.

Hi Louisa

Thomas Scott Bowers parents are James Bowers and Agnes Scott. Thomas was born in Tasmania in 1872. I have also noticed the double marriage.
Thanks again.

Hi ingrid,

When i found that Thomas scott wasn't
with Laura on each one I did a search for
Thomas Scott Bowers and only Thomas Scott
Bower came up. These was the only ones
that has Thomas Scott in australia.

I checked for a Death for a thomas Scott
or a Thomas S in NSW and didn't find
one so I included the details to see if they
were familiar to you.

You would need to look at Laura and thomas
marriage cert to cross reference who his
parents are to be sure. Mind you there are
several births, deaths and marriages for
Thomas bower or bowers and the same
foe electoral rolls.

If you find that it is him with his parents
it may me a case that he altered his name
so he didn't have to divorce to remarry.
Even odder is the fact that Laura and
thomas appear to have married twice.

marriages
Bowers, Thomas S
German,Laura c
8585/1906 Woollahra

Bowers, Thomas S
German,Laura c
9585/1906 Bourke

Bower, Thomas S
Pass, Amelia M
12974/1934 Kurri Kurri

Do you know who his parents are?
If you need any more help let me
know, regards, louisa

Hi Louisa

Thanks so much.I find this interesting.I now have a can of worms lol so to speak

These are my Gran and Aunt
1930
Laura Cecilia Bowers, Home duties
Hettie Bowers, Tailoress
Chamberlain Rd, Kingsgrove
1936
Laura Cecilia Bowers, cleaner
108 Stoney Creek Rd, Kingsgrove

This is my Uncle, Laura Cecelias eldest child.
1930
Thomas Stewart German Bowers, cabinet maker
corner Mimosa & Downey streets, Kingsgrove

1936
Thomas Stewart German Bowers, Chairmaker
70 St Georges Rd, Bexley

What I find interesting is
Thomas Scott Bowers was married to Laura Cecelia and left her with 6 Young children before 1930. I am wondering if Thomas Scott Bower is one and the same person.

Thanks again I will have to put my detective hat on again with this family.
Cheers you have been wonderful for finding this for me
Ingrid

Thank you Louisa,

Unfortunately I do no think either are my husbands grt-grandfather Lorenzo (Lawrence) as he was born in Floriana Malta. He apparetly disappeared after 1914, family hearsay has him going to OZ or Canada where he was never heard from again.

I appreciate you doing the lookups for me and the additional info.

bye Helen

Hi Louisa

I am trying to find out where my family lived when they first arrived in Victoria from England, which was Nov/Dec 1924.The earliest address I have for them is in 1941 at: 358 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne. I think they were given government land to work in rural Victoria on arrival in 1924 as there was reference to this in military paperwork I have. The names are:

Herbert George BARRETT born 1887 Greenwich
Mabel Barrett born 1885 London
John Herbert Barrett born 1912 London
Joan Irene Barrett born 1915 Maidstone, Kent

If you could see if you could find them I would be grateful.

Regards
Trish

Hi Louisa,
Just wanted to thank you.
I was idly browsing and noticed someone ask you about a surname in my tree, quite a rare and unusual name. So I gr mailed him and we connect!!! Neither of us know how this Ozzie lot with the unusual name fits our trees, but now we feel they must and have more fun to research!
So, Thanks!!
