I am looking for George Wilkinson b 1883, son of John William Wilkinson and Edith Carr (from Newcastle) - however the parents came south in 1879 and settled in Hoxton, London. He appears on the 1891 Census - but not the 1901 - he has left home by then.
He possibly appears in the 1901 Census as working in a drapers shop in Shoreditch. Now Aunt Louie (88 years old) sister of my father - she lived in Dalston, Hackney, says they had no problem with meat during the war - it all came from Uncle George, which suggests he may have been a butcher. She suggests he got married and had children - but has been out of touch for 63 years now. So I am looking for probably his grandchildren in Hoxton, Shoreditch, Hackney to get in touch with me - I am their second
cousin.

Yes the John William Wilkinson and Edith Carr are mine - they got married at St Nicholas, Newcastle.
John William worked on railways - and got transferred to London (Hoxton - then Hackney) in 1879.
I am not sure whether George William b 1883 is mine - in Chelsea ???? All the other chidren of John and Edith were born in Hoxton - Shoreditch - Holborn areas - my grandad John Francis Wilkinson 1888 - 1951 was born Holborn- Finsbury area.
John and the other five daughters stayed in the East End of London upto WWII - when they were dispersed. My only link with the past Aunt Louie 88 years old remembers them all - but has been out of touch for the last 70 years.
This George did not appear on the 1901 Census - I believe he worked as shop assistant, and possibly in a butchers.
