David Report 23 Sep 2009 12:10

I am looking for two of my great x 4 uncles, John Wilkinson b 1807 and Thomas Wilkinson b 1803. They came from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and were baptised at St Johns Church
their parents Robert Wilkinson and Jane Stobbart, second and third sons. They do not appear on any of the censae or Bishop of Durham transcripts. However they, possibly they, do appear in IGI records of the 1880 census. John Wilkinson living in Cedar, Iowa, 73 years old, retired farmer, married to Hannah Wilkinson, with three grandchildren called Blowers staying with them. And Thomas Wilkinson living at Genessee, Winconsin, 77 years old, retired farmer, married to Mary Wilkinson. Both came from England - no signs of birthplace or who parents were. Now their original family were barley farmers and maltsters, and possibly they took this farming to the USA (Milwaukee is nearby).
Anyone with such an interest, would you mind looking it up for me.
David Wilkinson

I noticed, on the 1880 census, that Anna is not listed as wife. She's listed as "other". She was born in Pennsylvania as were her parents.

Another tree on Ancestry has John Wilkinson born 20 Mar. 1809, Newcastle, Northumberland, married Hannah David 10 Sep. 1832, Bald Eagle, Centre Co., Pennsylvania. died 11 Nov. 1896, Tipton, Cedar Co., Iowa. One child was Clementine who married an Unknown Blowers. Also a son Roy Carpenter Wilkinson born 1850. This family looks like the first one that Alviegal posted the 1870 census for.
I would say that this John certainly looks like your 4x gt. uncle but I'm not sure about the Thomas.

David Blowers/Clementine Wilkinson family
Posted by: Barbara Wilkinson (ID *****9664) Date: January 23, 2005 at 16:40:39
of 106

Looking for any information on the parents of David or anyone descended from this family.
Known children are Harry W, Nettie, Sarah E, Hannah. Others that are suppose to be children are Mariah and Minnie and a baby? David and Clementine b and married in Pennsylvania. Clementine marries a John Downing next. Unknown as to whether David is dead or they are divorced. Children living with different relatives in 1880 census and she nor David can be found.
Any help would be appreciated. Have information to share willing on her side of the family.
Barb

David and Clementina are divorced in abt 1881. She then gives up Nellie (Sarah E in the 1900 census) to Sarah Wilkinson and husband Amasa Kinnan in Finney county Kansas. Still need any information on other children, David or when Clementina dies. Thanks, Barb
