I have been trying to trace John and Thomas Wilkinson, who were miners at the Isabella Pit in the 1901 Census. They came from Robert Wilkinson b1852 and Phillis Gledson b1863 - they both lived at Isabella, Cowpen, Northumberland in 1881 and 1891 Censae. Robert dies, John disappears, Phillis re-marries Joice Turnbull by 1901 Census. Thomas is still around in 1911 - then marries Catherine Douglass in 1912 (Tynemouth 10b.555) -then they disappear. Now I can find John D.Wilkinson born to Wilkinson and Douglass in 1914 at Hexham. Is this the one ? I have tracked down three families of Wilkinson and two families of Douglass that worked at the Isabella Pit.
John Wilkinson b 1879 - I found four references to marriages in
Tynemouth 10b.476 in 1902, 10b.386 and 10b.339 in 1903 and 10b.301 in 1909 - but have no idea of the females name - but in 1916 Sergeant John Wilkinson from Isabella Pit died in 1916 leaving Sarah Jane Wilkinson his wife.
Anyone any idea on this and events in the Isabella Pit early 1900s
David Wilkinson
John and Thomas are my third cousins - uncles.
