Trying to find Wilkinson

I have tracked down the Wilkinsons of Hackney back to 1801. They came from a Newcastle / Durham boat owner called Robert Wilkinson b.1801 who married Sarah, moved from Felling in Durham to Elswick, Newcastle. They had George Wilkinson b.1830 who married Jane, then had Robert, James Douglas and John William Wilkinson - the last of these married Edith Carr and came down to London in 1878 to start my family, my grandad and eventually my father. So I have tracked down the Newcastle Wilkinsons in the 1881 Census, George married to Jane (both 50) with their sons Robert and James D. still living at 31 Duke Street, Newcastle. Thereafter they disappear from the radar - they are not in the 1891 census or 1901 census. Anyone know what happened to them ?
