Sarah WILKINSON Trying to find more information on the above, born at Preston on Tees on 18 Jun 1854. According to her birth certificate her parents were Thomas WILKINSON and Mary HALL. In the 1861 census Sarah is shown in the following household at 5 Foundary Street, Trinity Parish, Cockerton, Darlington: Thomas, Head, 61, ag lab, born Thorpe, York. Mary Ann, daughter, 34, born Yarm. William, son, 28, born Stockton. Sarah, granddaughter, 6, born Cockerton Of these, only Thomas (Sarah's grandfather) is shown as married but there is no listing for his wife. I have found no explanation as to where Sarah's parents were. I assume that her father was another son of the Thomas listed in the census and was born c1825 - 1830. There are several possibles for the "Thorpe, York", but the most likely is in the parish of Wycliffe, Gilling West, near Richmond where a Thomas WILKINSON was born c1800, ie the right age to tie in with the census entry. If this is the right chap, he married a Mary CARTER at Richmond on 31 Dec 1825. Does anyone recognise any of these individuals?
