Hi I'm hoping someone may be able to help with my husbands ancestors. We are stuck at his Great Grandad George Wilson who we believe was born in or around Birmingham around c1880 and died 1958. George married twice, firstly to Elizabeth Bailey and had 4 children Albert, Frederick, George and Dolly and then again to an unknown lady and had 2 more children Alfred and Harry.

If you send for the marriage cert it will parents names on boths sides.

searched 1880 +/- 5 years

4. George Wilson - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 24 AUG 1885 St Nicolas, Birmingham, Warwick, England

There are 11 on this site also on the 1881 census.

Once you have got the fathers name you could then check the census as you will have an age on the marriage cert for George.

I'm still new to this and I really appreaciate your help.
So you suggest getting their marriage certificate and the reference is 6d 135, have I got that right?
After I obtain that I can trace back further as it will have the fathers names on then?
