Can anybody help me please? im trying to find any information on my Great Grand Mother. I believe she was born around 1900 somewhere, dont know where she came from. I know that she died in Kent about 1986-1992. It was roumoured that she did live in Scotland near Edinburgh/Dundee and ran a Pub with her Husband. As far as i know she had 1 Child, Alfred Arthur Leslie Watson, born in Alverstoke, Gosport 1926. Believed to have moved to Scotland after his birth. I know its is really sketchy details but any information would be gratfully reiceved. Many thanks to all that reply in this search. Sean

If she died in Scotland, then you should look on Scotlandspeople for her death. Death registrations after 1959 are not available to view online - you need to order the certificate. A Scottish death certificate gives the parents' names including the mother's maiden surname - if the informant knew the details.

have you looked for her on the 1911 census

no death registerd in Kent for that period 1986-1992
The latest one is 1980 but born in 1915??

OK your heading is misleading we should be looking for her death as WATSON not Wilson

I have looked on Free BDM and i can not find any mention of her except my Grandfathers birth. So im really in the dark here. I meet her once when i was on leave from the Army and she was very old then, mind you she did comment on my Ginger hair and said that it was the Scottish side coming out ????? if she came from Scotland. I know nothing else about this woman. But when i see her she was living with relatives in Maidstone and it was before i was deployed to the Gulf in 1990.

There is only one birth registered in 1905 for a Lavinia Wilson but i cant find anything that fits on the 1911 Census.......

The reference to the "ginger hair" makes me wonder if she was born in Scotland.

Do you have Alfred's birth certificate please? What details are on it? Father's name? Occupation? Mother's name?


What was her husband's name and was he the father of Alfred?

I have no Birth certs for any of them. I believe Alfreds fathers name was Alexander and possible he was of Persian decent.. As for occupation ??? worked on a Spice trader and was rumoured to have been on the Cutty Sark. Mothers Name was Lavinia Wilson.
New info..She died in 1988 at Maidstone Hospital and was then transported to Glouster to be cremated. She did remarry a Bernard Vincent all other details unknown.
