I have just checked the image for the 1911 and George and Margaret (Maggie) had been married for 14 years. I have not checked out the marriage because i am concerned that if George signed his name as John on the marriage cert, his name might actually be John! |

Im confused because the address 24 St Agnes Terrace fits the marriage cert and the marriage was witnessed by Margarets younger sister Dorothy. Dont know why he signed John, unless he changed his name after the 1st world war as his mother was German according to the 1881 and 1871 census records. |

My mum and her sisters, Margaret.Gwendoline and Edith, were known as Peggy Jane and Bert all their lives I wouldn't worry about it. |
