I would be grateful for any help! My great great great grandparents William Wilson b 1818 Halton in Yorkshire (Mill Engr) married to Alice b 1823 in Pannall Yorkshire - can anyone help find Alice's maiden name? I am hoping this information may help me to go back to the previous generation. |

If you buy William junior's birth cert, you'll have Alice's maiden name. |

The way to find the maiden name is to look on freebmd for the marriage |

You say you 'know' William and Alice had a son in 1844................what documents do you have to back that up? |
|||

1861.........William born 1844 is the son of William..........no way of knowing who his mother is/was from the census records. |

Wow many thanks or such speedy helpful responses. I realise William jnr dob 1844 may not be exact - the hand-written family tree has been passed around the family for years so not too sure where the information came from originally. |

That doesn't help, unfortunately. |

This looks like young William in 1851 |

As previously I didn't have a date for William & Alice Wilsons marriage (1848) I hadn't considered that perhaps William Wilson jnr (1844) wasn't Alice's son. If this is the case it looks like William Snr 1818 may have been married before? |
