If you want to buy a BMD cert, heres how and here
is the addy where you can buy it online... (copy n paste the following...)

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

(tip)Never pay more than £7
(another tip) for a marriage, you only need
put one partners name when ordering.

If you are ordering online from the GRO,
make sure that when the form asks
"Is the full GRO reference known?"
that you tick the "yes" box

Well said Margaret ...and SO true!

Some professional researchers will charge you £25 (and some!) for a BMD cert....we all know they cost £7 at the most!

I would suggest, Ginny, before you buy any credits use all of the freebies first.
There's Free BMD, Familysearch, 1881 census which is free. Only after you've exhausted all of those should you consider spending your money. Even then it's not necessary, there are so many people here willing to do look-ups for you, and if I may say so, we do a better job than professional researchers.

Hello out there, i need some advice. I have brought my Credits (not sure after reading threads that i should have got from GR?? where else??.. When I look at birth records I just seem to get the name, page no etc, how can I read a proper record with parents names etc, dates I am looking for are around 1866. Also I have found some relations on the 1901 census and according to the ages of people that I have found , they should also be found on the previous census but none of them are why would this be. So far I have managed to find 3 part generations going back to 1865, it is so expensive is there an easier way.... Or any better sites where I can find certificates with full information. I am working from a small bit of information so am finding it very frustrating I don't want to give up already.... Thanks so much for your time with us novices. Ginny xx
