posted on record office wirh no response, does anybody know how to search a birth for st vincent west indies (British subject) or any sites, i'm looking for william gough b abt 1811

There are some records for St. Vincent on Familysearch. Couldn't find your William Gough though. There was one in 1751, St. Lucy, Barbados, Caribbean.

Perhaps his father was in the Army? Someone on here (sorry, I haven't got a subscription) may be able to look up his birth in the Regimental Indexes on findmypast, although they aren't complete.

I have him on the 1841/51/61 census (british) stating b foregin parts & west indies british subject st vincent.
As i don't have any info regarding parents, maybe his father was in the army their, will try IGI

don't have acess to findmy past, but found site on google svgancestry.com for st vincent west indies tried gough no luck still trying, only going of census for his d.o.b & where born

Do you have William Goughs marriage cert? Or perhaps he married before 1837? Hopefully you can get his fathers name from this, and if the married after 1837, his fathers occupation.

sorry the only cert i have(marriage) is his daughters mary ann gough b 1838 bingham notts, and states william gough as her father i think her mother could be called ann but no other info, as they had another son alfred b abt 1833 so they must of got married before that.
