hi Christine,

Where did you find all this information? This has got to be the one!! Alfred's son ended up living in Cleethorpes so I assumed that Alfred must have originated from there. Then i found the Birmingham address and searched there. I live in Nottingham, not far from Ilkeston, Christine. So I have gone full circle and this line of my family were nearer to me now than I ever imagined. Thank you so much for the help. What is now puzzling me is why - inbetween the census' he gave his address at his sons wedding as Easy Row Birmingham? He cannot have upped and moved in between with all those children? Oh - of course, as a commercial traveller you would have to put where you were living [even if only temporary] at the time of the census!! [the penny has just dropped!] It doesnt make life easy for us when trying to trace them, does it!

i am trying to find my great great grandfather Alfred Burton Wood. I have found him as the father of the groom [in 1898] on a wedding certificate and he gives his trade as a wine and spirit merchant and residence at Easy Row, Birmingham. he was jewish. I have searched census' for 1891 and 1901 and cannot find any trace of him. i have searched for the address and can find no trace of him can anyone help me regarding this. my brain is aching and any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.
