My grandmother was adopted in 1924. She refused to speak of this, and she recently died leaving us no clue. We have no idea the names of her birth parents, only her adoptive parents details. We aren't even too sure where exactly she was adopted from. We do have a copy of her birth notice, the parents names appearing are her adoptive parents details. We know her first home was in Hamilton, NZ. Has anyone got any tips to help me find details of her adoption? As in to find out where she was adopted (children's home/orphanage, private adoption etc), and with any luck, finding out her birth parents details? Any tips on who to contact, what to search for etc etc.
Thanks!!
