Anne

My 'cousin's' tree is uselees, the tree details I will get from the Probate Research company.

I now have my cheque and have posted to my bank account.

Sadly, my brother's cheque was sent to my sister, and her cheque was sent to my brother. My sister is currently on holiday in Spain - the wait for them goes on.

The Probate Research Company have agreed to send me a format letter to send to my 'cousin' making it clear that we would not be any way liable if subsequent claims were made on the estate. This is felt necessary as she did not eliminate all possible lines - too difficult.

I will get all the info from BTMR - I think Helen only has the info I gave her. (BIG SMILE)

Had some excellent news today. My brother, sister and I will each receive £813.50 (after paying 25% to the Probate Research Company) from the estate of a second cousin.

The 'cousin' who was granted Administration by the Treasury, has decided to ignore any possible German heirs and has distributed to the six UK heirs. The sum we receive, even after we have paid the Probate Research Company is more that the 'cousin' receives.

The 'cousin' continues to be difficult and is not handling the matter as protocol demands. Having spoken to BTMR, they will pursue her further to do the right thing and provide us with all the Treasury details and any research she has done .
On my return from my holiday - starts April 26th and ends May 11th - I will receive a fully detailed package from BTMR.

Unlike some happy endings on Heir Hunters, I will not be seeking a reunion with the other heirs.

I look in occasionally to see whether you are all behaving yourselves.

Love to all.

Thank you Arthur

I think Shadows needs reminding of this on occasions - esp at 2am in the morning or when he has a very mornful cry at the window at 9pm to go out & we have decided on an early night. I feel so very guilty for saying no to him - OH crys back at him

As soon as i go to the kitchen or say beddybeds he dashes out at a rate of knotts & speeds upstairs & sits on the bed waiting for us as though to say "where on earth are you i'm sitting here ready for bed & does a very big yawn"

I would really miss him if he wasn't here

Sometimes i wish i had the money to pay a professional for some of my brick walls - but then i would miss the fun of the chase - i would like a time machine - i just want a crumb so i can search in the right direction. Its so very annoying.

I hope you hear soon arthur

Anyone heard from Robert ?

Take care all

Anne

You have such fun with the cats in your neighbourhood. Shadow could not have found a better home.

My two keep the neighbours amused, but I rarely see any other cats.

Vikki is fine and the vet said she may have FLTU - feline lower tract urinary infection. This is when they do not really know what is the cause of her symptoms. If she didn't climb in the bath and spot, I would never know there was a problem!

Still awaiting word from either the Probate Research company or my 'cousin'. Although it is very satisfying to solve brick walls in our trees ourselves, this one is extremely difficult for an amateur - and has already been solved by the Probate Research Company.
The money is irrelevant, I want the extension to my family tree.

Lovely to have you back Reece

Sue sounds like you have a lot of planning to do now -

Arthur - how strange with the girls I would be very worried about Vikki but think you are wise to keep an eye on her.

Its quite warm here for the time of year

Cats were good over Easter -

Over Easter both cats had a good time in the garden – at one point Ginger Nut & Shadow were stetting one paving slab away from each other both facing the same way & sitting alike.

There is another little black cat appeared - he looked very worse for wear & grizzled at me - but purred when i stroked him – I gave him the leftovers from the cats breakfast & he was very appreciative. I also told him i couldn’t look after another one as Shadow wouldn’t like it. He looked very miserable & walked off – I saw him down the road a few days later - gave him a cuddle & he went on his way. I felt really sad i couldn’t help him too – they will be calling me the mad cat woman soon.

Ginger Nut arrived in the garden with his Sister Pippa on Sunday - Normally i only see Pippa outside their house or at my neighbours house as Pippa is a regular visitor there. She is pure Tabby where as Ginger nut is Ginger tabby. Pippa now seems to arrive with Ginger Nut on a regular basis now - OH thinks she will be in too - not if Shadow can help it. He has already given her the warning glare.

Ginger Nut has a girlfriend called Kristina - she is a Bengal & lives over the road - they are always together in the sun in her front garden (when he isn’t with us) - occasionally Pippa joins them & they all look really sweet. The two girls were both washing Ginger Nut the other morning - with Lily the tortoiseshell looking on - Shadow was in the house having a snooze - he does not go over the road that i know of - he is not happy with cars.

When Shadow upset Ginger nut a few weeks ago & chased him out the house – Kristina came over to our the garden jumped on the window sill – looked in - Shadow jumped on the desk & glared at her – she gave him a full Bengal blasting & swearing session - turned her tail & walked off down the path - over the road & back home. Jumped up on her wheelie bin in the sun & had a good wash. Then she went & cuddled up to Ginger nut in the her garden & they both fell asleep together.

Kristina does not normally visit us in our garden - she comes to us outside & will jump in OH car if he is not careful - They had a Store delivery – he left the door open - she jumped in – he closed the door 7 drove off – 5 mins later he came back - opened the door she jumped out & he drove off- seems she had done it before - so he just brings her back.

Hi Everyone

Reece it is so nice to see you back and so happy to hear you have settled into you new home,I hope your health sorts itself out soon for you.

We are all fine here ,Winter is on it's way back ,rain today and lots of it ,everything need a good wash so dusty everywhere.

I was going to get World Ancestry again this year but thought it a little to expensive again as I did not use it for most of last year so gone back to middle one $215.00 a year ,I did most of my tree with that membership anyway.

My Oh is now on a disability pension so no more work for him and it will give us a bit of a chance to travel some more ,and maybe a quick trip back to Uk to see all my rellies ...I do miss them a lot.

Well off again to get Grt Granddaughters Lunch.

Love to you all <3

Reece Report 7 Apr 2015 14:38

Hello to all my friends on here and thank you for your kind thoughts.

I am settled now in Dorset and have been beset by bouts of ill health and problems with the new flat, mainly leaks around doors and windows which have proved very difficult to put right. They were, I hope, all completed last week with the final coats of paint where needed. It is very comfortable, with very friendly neighbours around and the family close by. The grand daughters now 10 and 13 are delightful and, with their parents, had last summer in Australia visiting all the relations on both sides of the family. They brought back some lovely photos taken with their cousins and of the places visited.

I am trying to get back to researching but finding it slow going. I am probably near the end of what I can do and have struck a couple of "brick walls" as I'm sure you all have at some time or another.
My love and best wishes to you all.

Susan
Glad your husband's ops went well.

Anne
Loved the account of Shadow and Ginger Nut. My two behave in much the same way, with one huge difference - they may have almighty fights and fur literally flies, but they do tend to 'kiss and make up'. I frequently find them mutually washing - a paw on the neck makes it so much easier to clean inside the ears. They may then fall asleep cuddled up together. Sometimes, however, the mutual grooming is a prelude to a bout of intense fighting. Nobody seems to know why this is - my brother had 2 male cats from the same litter and they were just the same when it came to having major fights.

Vikki continues to have urinary problems even after a booster antibiotic injection. The vet is puzzled as she seems perfectly healthy in all others respects. I am only aware of the problem as she climbs into the bath daily and spots urine with varying amounts of blood in it. Tests have not shown infection or crystals. Think I will keep an eye on her and only contact the vet if she appears unwell.

The Probate Research Company have not been in touch and I have not heard from my 'cousin'. I can only assume she has not provided the necessary info requested.

Weather currently grey and cold, but we are promised better weather for the Easter weekend. I plan to spend all the time in the garden - plenty to do and mostly weeding - I have hired a skip and am well on the way to filling it.

Hopefully the exercise will help to reduce my weight - would like to lose at least 7 kg.

Hi Everyone

Oh's Ops have been and gone ,all went well he is in bandages for a while but he is handling being home all the time instead of at work( don't know about me though),I am not used to having him home all the time and it has thrown my life as I knew out the window.

He has more ops to come one on his neck but a while down the track.

Anne I try to stay away from threads like what you mentioned now, they get you too upset,I don't even know anymore who the trouble makers on here, don't go on Genes much anymore.

When the Hubbys injuries get a little better will start up my tree again but for now giving it a rest .

Glad to hear you are all well, will pop in from time to time .

Oh Sally what are you like

Glad to hear you are being looked after

My smoke alarm went off yesterday when i was cooking - both cats ran for cover & nearly ended up sitting together until they realised then they went to either end of the lounge & glared at each other.

Peace reigned – Shadow on his cushion (it was mine) on top of the footstool,
Ginger nut on top of the armchair by the window. Then Ginger nut crept down the arm, onto the seat & slid down to the floor very quietly & tried to sneak across the floor & past Shadow on the foot stool.

Shadow with the speed of lightening zapped out a paw (yowling as he did it) & caught ginger nut on the ear as he tried to run past. Ginger nut backed up to his chair & stayed on the floor for a few mins. Shadow sat up & looked at his paw – flexed his claw, yawned washed his paw & curled up again. Ginger nut crept back on his chair.

Mean while we both jumped out of our seats with all the noise

About an hour later Shadow got up, stretched & walked over me to the desk & wanted to go out as the rain had stopped.

As soon as he left Ginger nut jumped off the chair with a loud bump, rushed to the kitchen & wanted his lunch. Once finished back on the chair & fast asleep again. Shadow came back & wanted his lunch, then he went back to HIS cushion & back to sleep.

Did mum get any peace - No - meanwhile OH went back to sleep & finished his Sunday afternoon nap & missed all the ins & outs & demands for food.

I have decided in my house you have to be either a cat (looked after by me) or a husband to get any peace.

I even had one of our seagulls in the garden demanding scraps during the afternoon - its got so cheeky lately it comes up to the window & squawks at me
If Shadow is not around & when I go out with food it will get near enough to be touched (not that I ever have) It loves it when i throw out the stale cat biscuits
Apart from the actual cat food i think Go-Cat is its favourite. My rear garden is now a haven for Seagulls & neighbourhood cats (when Shadow is in the house)
