Hi all, can anyone help me put with this one?
I am trying to trace the o'donoghue family from Clonakilty Eire after getting some information through an adoption agency for an adoption that took place back in the 50's. I have some basic details from the records (such as irish address etc). I have been over to the GRO in eire about a year ago, but could not find the lady in question through her birth cert, as it appears she may have given the wrong birth year to the adoption agency. Even in their records they think she was 'a great deal older' than she claimed to be. I have also searched the land registry in Eire for the owners / tennants of the address I have and it appears that the house was sold in the mid 70's. I have spoken to the buyer of the property but he couldnt tell me where the family had gone to.
Does anyone have any idea on how to proceed here? I have thought perhaps seeing if there is a death record for the father around the time the house was sold... or seeing if the solicitors involved in the sale would have a forwarding address - but not sure how to proceed with this. ...
Any advice would be greatly greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
Vanessa
