ps...just had a call from my daughter.....our identicle twin girls maybe born next week!.They will be my great grandchildren....and guess who's birthday it is next week?...MINE!!!!
Cant wait to put them onto my tree.... lol

Makes sense that he changed his surname, Mum married when he was 2 so Mr Sadler became his father.

If Roy is going to be difficult to find I think the daughter will be the best avenue....... I wouldn't think there would be too many people of the same name.

CERTS HAVE ARRIVED!!!

Roy has no Fathers name and Jessie is his Mother.

Jessie DID marry William Edward Sadler in 1944 her age was 39.

Her Father was John Greenall a boot and shoe warehouseman(deseased)
So everything fits.

What a journey that was! From knowing nothing to what we have now...phew!

I have Jessie Sadler dying in 1978 so will tell Joan.


We have talked to Joan about her half Brother Roy and she would like us to try and find him.
Whats the next step for that? 192.com??

It's a bit odd thats she's down as Domestic servant though at her parents address...

Maybe Mr Cyril Arthur Andrew Hankins (who reg Joans birth) diddnt know that was her parents house?
The mind boggles to think what poor ol Jessie was thinking and feeling at that time.bless her.

He didn't mess around.

There's always a chance that C A A Hankins was female but Cyril fits and is in the correct area, so I think he's the one.

I checked out and went back abit on Cyril A.A.Hankins.

His father Wallace Hankins occupation in 1901 was....
Relieving officer and registra.

Maybe Cyril had the same occupation....

BTW...I have ordered today the birth cert for Roy Greenall 1942
also..the marriage that Rose found for Jessie in 1944.

A WHOLE week of waiting again!!!!!

He married Florence E Lewis and there was a child born in Salford in 1926.
