The Lost World of the Suffragettes

Oxford University historian, Sir Brian Harrison, conducted 193 interviews between 1974 and 1981, recording the experiences of the suffragettes in their own words.

These interviews are now to be broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday, 11th February at 8pm. The programme will be presented by Dan Snow and is entitled "The Lost World of the Suffragettes" .

Examples include interviews with Leonora Cohen, Grace Roe and Maude Kate Smith.

The audio files are now housed in the Women's Library at The London Metropolitan University.
