	Having found out that my gt grandfather joined the British army in Ireland in 1879, I have been googling for a little bit of background. http://www.movinghere.org.uk/galleries/histories/irish/working_lives/working_lives.htm The home page gives a guide to the site, incl sections on tracing Irish roots ( as well as Caribbean, Jewish and Asian) and gives some good general advice also :-D http://www.movinghere.org.uk/default.htm
