How wonderful that your friends husband now knows about his past and ancestors. I cannot imagine what it must feel like to go through life not knowing who our parents are. :-)

This story touchs my heart and I am happy for the gentleman and all concerned in helping him. My Father never knew his Father and kept the wish to know with him until he passed away. I feel like passing on my simple thanks for helping a stranger.

Some weeks ago, several of you gave me wonderful help when I was trying to trace ancestors for a friends husband who had been depressed for many years because he didn't feel that he knew who he was. The story that emerged was a sad one of two little boys brought up in care from the age of 4 and 5 ,told that their parents were dead when in fact they had been abandoned, and never knowing that these parents lived into their 70s and 80s. Some of you were concerned that this information might be too unpleasant for my friend's husband to be told,so I passed it all over to her ( I had traced three lines back to about 1800 )and left it to her judgement. She decided that knowing the truth would be best for him, and so it has proved. He rang me up yesterday to say how wonderful it was to have all those mysteries solved, things that he thought he'd never know in his lifetime, and that he now feels more settled and rooted. He also asked me to give a very big thankyou to everyone who helped with information and concern, so you can all polish up your halos.
