	i recently discoverd that my real surname is Bennett. My grandad who i never met was sent to Australia in approx 1925/6. is there a way of finding his name on a shipping list with only his surname Bennett?

	Do you know when he was born as his age would help to cut down the results when looking for a record? You could also find his first name if you had the birth certificate of his son or daughter (one of your parents). Kath. x

Member Since: March 2003 Posts: 2,132 Send Message	There are other Australian finding aids. Searching on Ancestry for Bennett in Australia after 1926 offers electoral rolls, marriage, death and cemetery records, WWII military newspapers etc etc
