Chris ......... you are quite right, Chorlton-on-Medlock is included in the "water daamged" 1851.


The restored (as much as possible) damaged 1851 is on ancestry ................... but I'm danged if I can find the Blackburns on it ..........

Not sure here, but was that area one of those 'water damaged' 1851 pieces?...

No I do not think the name was James the children do not match up.
Samule died in 1867 so although he is there on the 1861 census he does not appear of course on the 1871 census
