I'm hoping to gain some information on my gg grandmother's maiden name.

She was Ann Ainsworth/Hainsworth, born about 1803 or 1804 , somewhere in either Lancashire or West Yorkshire.

According to records, Ann married my gg grandfather, William Laycock, 19 Aug 1822 in St. Peter's Church of Leeds, County of York. Most of their children's baptisms were recorded at St. Peter's, but the oldest child Martha, born 14 Mar 1823, was not.

However, I know nothing about Ann's family or where she was born. Does anyone know where I can get more help? I do not have a UK Ancestry.com subscription.

Hi Margee:

Yes, you have the correct Laycock family. Martha is also correct. I didn't know Rawdon was in the same county of Leeds. Thanks. I guess the whole family was born in West Yorkshire near & in Leeds.

It's Ann Hainsworth/Ainsworth, the mother of the family above & my gg grandmother I don't know much about..........?her birth, ?her baptism, ?her parents etc.

Thanks safc:

That might be my Ann Ainsworth, but I know she died in Andover, Massachusetts, 5 May 1851. That would have made her 51 years old.

The records said she was 48. I have a photo of her gravestone & it has 1851 engraved on it. She would have been born in 1803 if all are correct. Right?
