I would think that if he committed suicide then it would say something like...Took his own life by.......(and give the method of suicide).

I would also expect the informant to be a coroner.

Can you be certain of the cause of death if you weren't present? Are you sure it's the right certificate?

does anyone know if suicide is listed on a death certificate ?I
I think I have my grand father's death certificate, but the cause of death is listed as a cardiac problem, when I know he committed suicide.
