Deed Poll Name Change.

If it was a 'proper' Deed Poll, it will have more than likely feature in The London Gazette, available free online.
I did this with a step-son at around that time and the entry can be clearly seen.
If it was not a 'proper' Deed poll then this will not applt.

Sorry for delay in response brummiejan, have been checking 192.com and have found 4 in the right area that could be possible.

If you know his step-father's name it might be an idea to check out sites such as 192.com and Facebook. His first names will be unchanged won't they?
How old would he have been at the time?

Thank You for your quick response, Husband looking for a relative and not sure if he changed his surname after divorce of parents and mother remarried.

Why do you think this took place, if you don't mind my asking? Remember people can call themselves anything they like as long as it isn't for fraudulent purposes, so usually not worth the trouble and expense!

Is it possible to find out on-line if someone changed there name by deed poll around 1970-71.
