Hi all, I have a battle going on at the moment with Ancertry regarding one of my old trees.

Can someone do me a favour who has access to Ancertry trees and type in the following name -

Samuel Makin 1766 Sheffield, Yorkshire.

I used need to know the name of the tree that it is in.

I get this message:

We are currently unable to find the tree you are trying to access. We may be experiencing technical difficulties, or it is possible that the tree owner has removed this tree.

Hi Everyone and Thanks.

I uploaded a new tree on 26 Jan and it hasn't appeared yet. I deleted the old one
'Oscars Tree' but is still there, but with message. Several different messages from Ancestry. Surely it doesn't take nearly 4 weeks to upgrade their site.

See which one is on www.mundia.com - it shows all public trees from Ancestry. Sign into the site with your Ancestry details.

Carol,
I upload in the same way that you do.
I leave it's predecssor until it appears and then delete it (the old one).
I uploaded mine on 2 Jan and it has only just appeared on Anc in the last week.

I have emailed them about the delay various times but it still takes about 4weeks to appear in a search?

Ancestry do warn you when changing trees from public to private that the change takes effect straight away but it takes "a month or more to be reflected in the search index".

It would seem logical that the same applies when deleting a tree (and presumably when adding or deleting individuals in the tree.
