In answer to the original question, there are a couple of points in the Guidelines for the use of Message Boards that may be relevant:-

Please do not communicate material that deviates from the topic of the message board thread - start a new topic if you'd like to.

Please do not submit the same or similar material more than once.

Christopher, Could i suggest you either buy a Map or use an online map,

All the locations you name are in the same area of Kent

Birchington is very close to Margate ( ABT 3 miles )

st lawrence is a suburb of Ramsgate

st peters is a suburb of Broadstairs, which is next to Ramsgate and Margate

With Ramsgate in the south and Margate to the north and Birchington west of Margate they are all within a couple of miles from each other

i was just trying to clarify the right way to post using an obviously extreme example.and it wasnt meant for that post but future ones.i dont want to the wrong thing.
.my harman family is not related directly to most of the thanet ones.mine moved (one in particular born in birchington married in st lawrence had children in st peters died in margate).whereas the others stayed mostly in margate..
but this jane i was looking for is probably not the same family.there would be a gap of 9 years after her brother.so i was trying to identify her parents.

You can also edit the title of your post with something like....UPDATED...or MORE INFORMATION NEEDED.

Your post will also go back to the top of the board so shouldn't be overlooked.

so if i had a thread titled harman 6 months ago about john and i wanted to know about william born about 200 years later i use the same thread?

Also if the thread comes to a standstill and you still need help then just add to the thread asking for more help which will nudge it up the board

Christopher, It's to avoid duplicating info by keeping all info together on one thread

when info is duplicated then members may feel they have wasted their time and resources when they then find the same info on another Duplicate thread
