No apology on here or facebook....is this another case of "we have not had any problems with the site" again?

Error 404 for the past two days. I'm using Firefox. I find that logging out then in again will sometimes, but not always solve the problem.

"The error messages are logged as a graph so any spike will indicate a problem, which is then investigated. "

Well the spike must be off the scale with the number of members having problems over the last few days

BUT still no announcement from the Team to acknowledge any problems on site

There is a thread currently running on General Chat about error messages so it is not just the high posters that are experiencing this problem. Been mentioned on loads of other threads as well.

At least 10 error messages logged in the last 30 mins or so. Wonder if they will show up on the system

It's been on and off all evening.

So did the Technical Team acknowledge that there was any problem with the site or not ? Strange that quite a few members had the same problems around the same time. We all can not be running the same system !!!!!

I gave up letting the support team know about error messages as all you got was an automated reply telling you to change your browser or delete your cookies. It is never a problem with the site !!!

But once again my question about how many times does an error message have to be logged before it gets investigated has been ignored.

About time the GR Team took some of our complaints seriously especially when it is the helpers on the boards that are raising these issues.

BUT obviously GR have forgotten it is the helpers that make this site what it is and without them you do not have a site.

Natasha - could the error message also include the email address for support?

i also had problems, shortly after midnight.

Error messages were constant for about an hour, then intermittent for the remainder of the night.

I could not open ANY Board ........ the Error message showed immediately I clicked on the title.

So it was not a matter of sitting here for a minute watching the little wheel whirl around before finally getting the Error message ........... which has been declared by some people to be due to an overloading of the GR servers.

Because I could not get in to any Board ............... I have no idea whether I could open threads or post comments.

I do know that I tried 5 times to open 3 different Boards (General Chat, Genealogy Chat, Find Ancestors) and My Threads ................... then I gave up, and went to the South African GR

South African GR worked beautifully, and was very fast, much faster than the UK address has been for weeks. Unfortunately, SA also developed some slight problems with the Error messages after about an hour.

Is it any wonder that I gave up on GR, and went on to do other things on the internet instead of being on here????

As others have said ................... what point is there in contacting Support at midnight????

Yes, it gets the information into the group ............... but they haven't achieved much in all the months and years we have been contacting them about Error messages!

Contacting them after midnight does nothing to help us at that point .................. and after midnight is when overseas members want to use GR, not to be messed around!

I must have had 20 error messages in the early hours of this morning, either trying to post a reply on a thread or trying to go from one board to another....so do these error messages not show on your system?

I hate using my email and very rarely log into it, so am not inclined to do so if I get an error message at 1am

No real point in e-mailing customer support

They churn out automated responses, telling us to change our browser

The technical team see error reports on a daily basis so they know exactly when there are problems. It’s always important to let the customer support team know too. The error messages are logged as a graph so any spike will indicate a problem, which is then investigated.

I do not know how many times I have asked this question before and never had an answer.

But how many times does an error mesage have to be logged before the Team investigate the problem ?

Surely the Team must be aware there was a problem because of the number of times I must have had the error message logged early this morning, probably 10 ?.

So I suggestion that someone from the Team checks to see just how many error messages were logged between midnight and 1 am this morning !!!!!!!!!!

What is the point of emailing an error message that was on going mainly after midnight.

If you were not trying to use the boards at that time I am sure you would be unaware of any problems the members were having

We are not aware of any problems. If you do experience problems could you please email our support team at [email protected].

You can also PM me any questions you may have.

There were problems with this site just after midnight and once again no mention of it by the GR Team on the Annoucement Board.

Error message after error message. Sometimes unable to get back onto Home Page.

I know of at least 3 other regular helpers that were having trouble between midnight and 1 am this morning.

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 25 Jul 2013 14:28

Complete and utter waste of time posting anything on this thread

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 17 Jul 2013 15:25

I still can not delete messages from my Inbox or Sent box.

Problem was reported back in March but as I had not tried to delete messages for months then no way of knowing how long I had this problem for.

GR Team did offer to do it but why should I have to contact them on a regular basis for it to be done.

Can this please be sorted.

Customer satisfaction is well down the list at the moment.

Thanks Natasha

Anything that removes the ability for some to cause Agro is welcome and I agree with Reggie that there are also other things to sort out.

Please, Natasha..........

Before you 'improve' the boards yet again, would you make sure that the site is in full working order.

For many months, I have been unable to view 'sent messages'.......................surely a vital function, in order that one can ascertain whether or not one's message has been opened by the intended recipient

And if and when you decide on 'improvements'........TEST them FULLY before launching them on us - PLEASE.

Hi Nanelessone,

I touched on this idea in a previous suggestions round-up. A member asked that posts could only be edited for a certain period of time or if we could implement the edit function similar to facebook, where once edited the original text can still be viewed. I’ve spoken about this idea with the team, we have plans to improve the community boards so we’ll be discussing the best approach to this. I’ll update you when I know more.
