If the post Dizzi has found is about the same Helmut, have you thought about placing an advert in a Kiel newspaper?

An internet search of 'Newspapers in Kiel' throws up a number of results.

There are also on line phone books for Kiel - just make sure you select the German ones, not Wisconsin!

Searching Kasper on this one
http://www.11880.com
does bring up some results, although not of a Helmut or Herman

If we are to assume that Helmut is the father of a relative, do please, please be aware that his German family or descendents may not know of the English child. If you tried to make contact, you really do have to be tactful.
You should also consider that Helmut has since died.

I'm looking for either a Helmut Kasper but for some reason was called Herman , he was detained and sent up to Yorkshire to work on the land around 1944-1948, not sure of the exact dates, any help would be so greatly appreciated , I've been looking for over the last 12 years and drawn a blank, regards Donna
