It is only IE9 that has the problem because it copies the control characters from the tables whereas Firefox changes the control characters to tabs.

Previously either the Compatibility button or using the printer friendly version gave a readable result when pasted into a GR message. Now neither works.

Yikes. They've really changed Family Search.

I tried lots of times, got different "first pages" each time. When I eventually got to the "search" page (without having to register) I saved it on favourites.

What a lot of messing about.

:-(

Scozz (re 21 Apr 2013 03:48) - not quite right - it's true for Scotland, but not all of England/Wales. There, you usually get the whole h/h in 1871 & 1881. There's no Irish censuses at FS.

I prefer to enter at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND
or region=UNITED_STATES or region=CANADA or whatever.
You obviously won't get access to any unindexed collection of images if you enter via a search screen.

Morning it's me again.

Oh has installed me Firefox and I can now C&P from Ancestry but the print on the firefox page is so small and I can't find out how to make the text bigger so I can actually read it without being right up to the screen!!

Any ideas please?

A short cut to enlarge the print is to hold the Ctrl and tap the +
The reverse is Ctrl and - (minus)

Although it tends to remember what you've done for that particular site, you have to do the same the first time you visit other sites

There is a more complicated way to do it which some of the more IT literate folk can give instructions for. However, the Ctrl + version is quick and easy.

It suits me as I am not IT literate.
