	I just noticed that records give burial dates, not the dates when the person passed away. This can make searching confusing if it was near the end of a month , as they would be buried in the next month.( or possibly the next quarter) If they passed away in December their burial date would be in the following year .

	True - I tend to assume a death within the previous week unless it is in the last 50 years when refrigeration became more common. Things go haywire around Christmas/New year when there can be a backlog for registering a death - no certificate, no desposition. :-(

Member Since: March 2003 Posts: 7,819 Send Message	Parish records are records of burials, not deaths, although some give the date of death as well. Death certificates on the other hand are just that, and will always give the date of death.
