Deceased Online has added nearly 230,000 burial and cremation records for the West Yorkshire area of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council

The Wakefield area is large and covers such notable towns as Castleford, Featherstone, Knottingley and Pontefract as well as Wakefield City

The earliest records are from 1857 and feature 19 cemeteries and two crematoria

Currently, the data comprises scans of registers for approximately 75% of records; more data will be added soon including cemetery section maps and grave details
