She wasn't given another name at baptism was she? I know the birth record for her gives just Elizabeth as her forename but there is this death:-

Name: THOMPSON, Mary E
Registration district: Middlesbrough
County: Yorkshire
Year of registration: 1940
Quarter of registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Age at death: 47
Volume no: 9D
Page no: 1015

The middle initial could be for Elizabeth and the birth year would be about right. Just a thought really!

Hi

Thank you for checking the shipping record.

Hi I have previously checked this death record and it is not my ancestor.

There were no children between Elizabeth and Edward that I have found but on the marriage certificate in 1917 Edward is recorded as being in the army.

I appreciate your time and advice in responding to this record

Kind Regards

Angela

Hi Angela, I'm afraid I don't think she's yours. This is the arrival in Canada:

Canadian Passenger Lists, 1865-1935

Name: Elizabeth Thompson
Gender: Female
Age: 39
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1893
Birth Country: England
Date of Arrival: 16 Sep 1932
Vessel: Duchess of Atholl
Port of Arrival: Quebec
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England
Roll: T-14781

She was born in Amble and had previously been in Canada 1922 to 1932. She was returning to join her husband John Thompson in Main Street, Thistledown, Ontario.

Elizabeth Thompson nee Jameson born Middlesbrough 1893, gave birth to my grandfather Albert Jameson in 1913 (father unknown and child gave away). Elizabeth married Edward Randle Thompson 1917 - Middlesbrough. Edward died in Middlesbrough in 1942 and on the death certificate he is listed as a widow. I have searched between the dates and checked various records but cannot find the death of Elizabeth.

I have found an entry on Ancestry for an Elizabeth Thompson born 1893 leaving Liverpool to go to Canada in 1932, on the shipping records she is born listed as a housewife but is not travelling with her husband.

Could Elizabeth have stayed/died in Canada during this time, please can somebody advise how/where I start to check out these records.

I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this record.

Kind Regards

Angela
