Someone on Facebook has a letter from The War Office mentioning that the above person has been taken prisoner.
The letter was sent to a London address & dated July 1940.
She would like to give the letter to a descendant, unfortunatly there are lots of William Marshalls on this site born in that year.
Wish I could spend more time on this, maybe somone could.
Thanks

Dennis, does the letter by any chance mention his service number?

Is this a public Facebook appeal? If so could you give a link?

In 1939 ER Rosina, John, and Louisa are at the same address.

All with surname Lill, but I suppose the info was submitted the previous year.
